Events can keep track of events where the history of events can be of importance. Events are mainly intended for events like dry docking, hull cleaning and propeller polishing but can also be used for other types of events such as change of flag, ship manager, classification society, etc.
Event types are company specific and the following event types defined by default:
- Dry docking (including paint information)
- Hull cleaning
- Propeller polishing
Administrator can add or edit event types from Settings -> Ship profiles -> Event types.
Events are by default only allowed to be registered for past events. Contact support@ankeri.net if you want to also allow future events to be registered for your company.
Event type overview
Defined event types are displayed as follows with title, zero or more attributes and an edit icon. To add a new event type, press the New event type button.
Adding and editing an event type
To define a new event type, the New event type button should be used, giving a form as shown in the picture below. Attributes can either be created for the user to input text or select from a dropdown.
Existing event types can be edited in a similar way as given below for addition of new event types.
Event type
Multiple event types can be defined, where each event type must by minimum have a title that defines its content. In addition to having a title, it can be connected to a date field in the company's chartering questionnaire*.
Companies that allow future events to be registered also get the option to mark event types as future date. In those cases the connected event date will be updated based on next available (future) event instead of the last available (from the past) which is used by default.
Events values are always given as a date.
Attributes
While event type defines an event that is represented by a date, each event type can have 0 to 10 attributes associated with it. To add an attribute, give it a title and optionally connect it to a field in chartering questionnaire* if needed. To create multiple attributes, press the + Add new attribute line link and continue.
Event attributes are currently given as text only. For special cases they can also represent paint makers and paint systems. Please contact Ankeri support if you need attributes to include paint information.
* Connecting to chartering questionnaires
Events (date and attributes) can be connected to a field in chartering questionnaire (Specification) which results in the following:
- When an event (date or attributes) that is connected to a field is updated, the connected fields are updated with information from the most recent event.
- Field is disabled in chartering questionnaire and can only be edited by editing the corresponding event or adding a new one (see img below). A reference to event is given along and further information that can be seen by clicking on the question mark.
Note that the same field can only be connected a single event type or attribute. If a field is already in use, it is marked with (in use) in the dropdown where connections are made.
All fields can still be updated using the Ankeri API which may cause a mismatch between Events and Specification. This will be disabled in later release once events can be added and updated using the API.
Deleting an event type
Event types and attributes can currently not be deleted using Ankeri Settings. Please contact Ankeri support in case you need to delete an event type.
