The ETS module aggregates the EUA commitment to surrender into periods based on either the ETS period stipulated in the ETS charter party clause (monthly or quarterly) or by the default monthly periods if the charter party has no ETS clause or if it is an owner period.
In case of voyages overlapping 2 or more periods, each voyage is split by the EUA period to account for the part of the voyage's EUA in the period in question.
For each period all charter parties active in the period as well as an owner account period are always created.
ETS periods are shown in the Management tab and on each ship's individual ship page.
Period statuses
Each period can have 5 statuses.
- Open
- Period is open (as opposed to closed) meaning that its end date of the period has not passed or that the last voyage of the period is still not finished.
- Ready
- Period is closed and the aggregated EUA to surrender from the period is ready to be requested from the charterer.
- Requested
- EUA has been requested from the charterer but has not been settled.
- Delayed
- EUA has been requested but is a delayed state for some reason.
- Settled
- EUA has been settled by the charterer. Or in case of owner account period, the owner has settled the EUA to suffer commitment.
Note that the same statuses apply to owner's account periods.
Update period status
If period is closed (not open). A user with edit privileges can update the period status by clicking the update status and the relevant status.
Locked periods
Periods that have the Requested, Delayed or Settled status are locked by the system and their data will not be updated in the background. This ensures that periods' requests that have been sent out to charterers remain unchanged in the system.
Open and Ready periods are updated until their status is moved to Requested, Delayed or Settled.
If a period is moved back to Ready status from Requested, Delayed or Settled status, it will be updated in the background if new data arrives.
Viewing and generated PDF requests
Users with edit privileges can view and export EUA requests.
The request includes information about the:
- Vessel
- Contract and ETS clause
- Sum of Voyages EUA, offhire EUA and Net EUA.
- All voyages EUA, offhire EUA and Net EUA
- All offhires in period
- Account information
The user can then generate the PDF request, attach it to an email, sent it out and update the status of the period.
