After the simulation case has been created the case will be made available in the cases tab list in the CII simulation module page.
From there the user can click the case to access it.
Based on user roles the user can either simulate a configured case (view role) or edit the case and save (edit role), and simulate it. A user with view access will be able to change configuration values but not save the case.
The following tabs are shown for each simulation case:
- Services, shows a list of services added to the case. The user can expand each service card to show the legs of the service (port and sea passages) and their attributes.
- Ships, shows a list of ships added to the case. The user can expand each ship card to show the details of each ship and change the configuration values for each ship, which will then affect the simulation results.
- Simulation, shows the results of a simulation result. When saving a case the last simulation result will also be saved.
Configuring a sea passage leg speeds for a service
A service is either uploaded to the system or created in the Services module. For sensitivity analysis, the speed of each sea passage can be modified if the user desires. This will of course affect the simulation results, but the changes will not be saved when the case is closed or refreshed.
Configuring ship properties
The following configuration properties can be edited for each vessel.
Deployment configuration
The user can deploy and retire vessel on services at set dates. Any number of services can be included. The service will need to be part of the case to be selected. When deploying a service the deployment port can also be selected.
By default, the vessel will assigned one deployment service from the case.
If no deployment or retire date is selected it is assumed that the vessel is running and either has no set deployment date or retire date.
Note: The simulation model will not validate whether two deployments have intersecting dates.
Note: For the current year the operational results used will always be year-to-date results.
ME speed-consumption curves
The system will show the user all speed consumption curves available for each ship (from Ankeri Profiles or other configured sources) on a chart and in the drop-down list. This allows the user to switch between curves to use for the simulation.
If the ship has no curves available the chart will be empty and the simulation will not run. The user can then go to the Ankeri Profiles and add a design or scantling curve to use, and then reload the case (remembering to save any other changes first). After reload the curve should be shown and ready to use.
For the selected curve the user can set the markup. The markup is a percentage value that scales the curve by the percentage value. For example, if the user wants to add a 10% markup penalty the user will add 10 to the markup input value field. Similarly, if the user wants to 10% efficiency markup the user adds a -10 value the markup input value field.
AE Consumption
The AE port and underway consumption in MT/day are used in the simulation model. If available these values are taken from the Ankeri Profiles (port and underway consumption with no reefers). If not they are set to 0. The user can at any time change these values, for use with the simulation as well as saving them.
For reefer load simulation the system will by default use the SFOC derived from the values in the Ankeri Profiles. If not available a default value of 200 g/kWh will be assumed. The user can change this value at any time.
Fuel types
Select the fuel types for the vessels in question, both for the ME and AE. This will affect the emissions factors used in the simulation.
Events
Add information about upgrade events or dry docking with the efficiency markup expected (minus indicates a positive efficiency gain) and the expected start date for the event. Events can be added with an end date and degradation flag as well to simulate the reduced effect of hull cleaning over time. If available in Ankeri's Fleet Management, the appropriate events for the vessel will be synced from there.
